Can I cut Lokko open? Is the helmet bag theft-resistant?
Lokko isn’t designed to make the fabric uncuttable, it’s designed to keep your helmet secure. The waterproof outer cover protects your helmet from the elements, while the integrated lock secures the helmet directly to your bike frame. No lock is 100% theft-proof, especially against heavy tools. We recommend using Lokko wherever you go during the day, and taking your helmet inside at night or in higher-risk areas for extra peace of mind.
How does the integrated lock work?
Inside the cover is a built-in locking point that lets you secure your helmet to your bike, typically through a vent or strap opening, and attach it directly to the frame or rack. What level of security does the lock provide?
Lokko isn’t a high-security lock. It’s built to prevent common, opportunistic helmet theft and should be used alongside a standard bike lock for securing your bicycle.
Does Lokko fit every helmet?
Lokko is designed for most standard bicycle helmets, including common commuting and e-bike models. Full-face or unusually large helmets may not fit as well. As a quick guideline: if your helmet has a vent or opening the lock can pass through, it will almost always be compatible.
Will Lokko fit children’s helmets?
Most youth helmets fit as long as they have vents or a strap loop the lock can pass through. Lokko is primarily designed for bicycle helmets of all types, including many children’s models.
Is Lokko waterproof?
The cover is water-resistant and keeps your helmet dry in normal rain. During long or heavy downpours, some moisture may still get in. For best results, store the helmet with the vents facing downward and shake off excess water before opening. Discover more about the benefits of Lokko.
Can I use Lokko with non-bike helmets (scooter, skate, ski)?
Lokko is designed for bicycle helmets, but it may work with other helmet types as long as there’s an opening, such as a vent or chin-strap loop, that the lock can pass through. Just keep in mind that the fit may not be as comfortable as with standard bike helmets.
Will Lokko fit my folding bike / e-bike / cargo bike?
Yes. Lokko attaches to your helmet, not to a specific bike model. You simply lock the helmet to any solid part of your bike’s frame or rack. Learn more about using Lokko.
